S.E.C.S Smart Ecological Cultivation System

S.E.C.S or else Smart Ecological Cultivation System is a smart mobile application system that has been developed in managing and controlling cultivation, remotely and in real time.

In particular, the system is self-sustained since it utilizes physical resources, that is, solar power from photo-voltaic units and water from natural sources. Moreover, it uses data from a network of sensors regarding humidity, soil-temperature, air-temperature in the fields to help farmers decide if the crop requires irrigation, fertilization and spraying. The system is able to monitor greenhouses as well; since it automatically monitors the pressure and air in the greenhouse through fans and windows that are remotely controlled for changing the condition of the environment based on the sensors’ measurements. The system supports automation as well as remote monitoring and management via a smartphone. Finally, the systems provides important information and historical data to the user/farmer for tracking actions on the plants as well as for optimizing cultivation, in general.

My role with this project was the creation of the Business and Marketing Plan that had to be submitted for its participation in the European and International Awards. This Ecological System has managed to thrive in the local and European Awards by taking the first place and going to the finals in USA.
